Boeing Enhances Quality Control Measures for 737 MAX Aircraft

Following a recent incident where a fuselage panel detached from a 737 MAX aircraft, Boeing is intensifying its commitment to safety. Stan Deal, President of Boeing Commercial Airplanes, announced additional quality inspections. A dedicated team will scrutinize Spirit AeroSystems, the supplier responsible for the plug door implicated in the incident. These inspections will ensure the integrity of Spirit's work before fuselages are transported to Boeing's Washington state production facilities. Beyond door plug assessments, Boeing teams will perform checks at 50 other points in Spirit's production process. Both Boeing and Spirit will open their 737 production facilities to airline customers, allowing carriers to conduct their inspections. To further reinforce quality standards, Boeing plans sessions on quality management for its employees. An independent third party will assess Boeing's production process.
